I picked up these pens for three reasons: they’re nice colours, they’re mini, and they were $3.74!
Being the most popular brand of supermarket stationery, I’ve never really liked Bic pens particularly the Cristal range. However, making them scented, pretty, and mini is the best way to win me over!
This super happy-coloured packaging is very unlike Bic. Not that I’ve seen where they are available, but apparently the raspberry and dark blue are bonus pens which explains why the giant label says six plus two free.
Never fear! Looks like they’re available everywhere ever.
They literally are mini, 11cm!
Technically each colour is a different fruit scent: Purple – Blackcurrant, Dark Blue – Blueberry, Mint Blue – Mint (didn’t know mint was a fruit), Green – Apple, Yellow – Banana, Orange – Orange, Peach – Peach, Raspberry – Raspberry…
…however, that’s not what I found. As you can see I did a serious sniff test. Some are super strong and yummy, others are just weak and smell like smell.
In terms of writing performance they have the power of a Bic. They write like that trusty Bic ballpoint you’ve had for 20 years. A few colours took some frantic scribbling to get going (don’t try licking the tip when you’ve been scribbling fast, it burns) but other than that they write fine!
They’re rather unusual colours which is why I like them. I’m particularly fond of the mint pen. I don’t use them for important writing, but they do make a nice change from a blue or black pen when scribbling something quick!
