This is the ultimate girls post. What could possibly be more awesome than cute pens? When there’s a collaboration between a stationery giant and a makeup powerhouse! Shiseido is an international makeup brand and when I picked up on the fact that the new Uni-ball Style Fits were in collaboration with Majolica Majorca (Shiseido’s drugstore range) I sensed blogging of epic proportions.
There was one problem… Where was I going to get this adorable Japanese makeup? Whilst Shiseido is available worldwide, Majolica Majorca is only available in Japan. So I turned to the internet! I made a huge order of pens on JetPens and a Huge order of makeup to match from YESSTYLE.
Now for the awesome.
The Majolica Majorca Speedy and Glossy nail polishes are just that. Really fast drying, and the shiniest finish I’ve ever seen in a nail polish! They’re both quite sheer colours and need a good three coats to get a really intense colour coverage.
GR222 on the left is much more green than it looks in the picture – I’d probably call it teal. 7 on the right is a neon pink. It’s so neon it’s showing up orange in the photo! It’s incredible and would look really amazing on top of white nail polish (yet to try it).
See the stripes on the packaging? They match the Uni-ball Style Fits!
It took me for ever to choose this eyeshadow palette as there are so many lovely colours to choose from that are all neutral but differ slightly in shade. I finally settled on Majolook BR788. You can’t really tell but the three eyeshadow powders are so glittery!!! I’ve been using this palette everyday for the past 3 days and am not planning on stopping any time soon!
The shades have a strong pigment and are very neutral but as they’re super glittery it makes everything much more fun! The top swirly section is a creamy and glittery eyeshadow base cream which really helps the eyeshadow stick and, as it’s so pale, it really intensifies the colours.
I didn’t think it was possible to pack so much glitter into an eyeliner pencil (see the swatch below)! This Jeweling Pencil in 071 Pearl makes me happy. It works really well for me as an eye highlighter as it’s so pale and glittery.
The Pressed Pore Cover Powder is unreal. I was a little skeptical about how well this would work but it makes my skin super smooth. After just using it once I added it to my makeup routine straight away. It gets rid of all the tiny craters on my nose! It doesn’t really add any colour as it’s almost translucent once applied to your skin. However, it does make your skin look powdery, matte, and slightly pale. But if you’re like me and use it underneath powder anyway it doesn’t matter at all.
This Shadow Customise in GR162 is so cute – it’s tiny! It’s a true peacock green with great pigment (you don’t need to use much to get a really strong colour).
I really love the concept of the Customise range: there’s a tiny hole on the back where you use something small to poke the palette out of the case. If you have a bunch of them you can add them to bigger compact of all your favourite colours!
The Puff de Cheek blush in Peach Macaroon (PK301) was the item I was most excited about! It’s just adorable and is the most popular item in the Majolica Majorca range. People pay top dollar for the limited edition colours that aren’t being produced anymore.
Everything about this pan is adorable. The packaging design looks a lot like the Style Fit pens – yay matching! The puff applies the blush really well – it’s a bright and intense pale peachy pink. You hardly need to put any on to get a strong colour. Beautifully presented makeup is just so much nicer to use, and this powder puff a perfect example of that.
Colour swatches! From the top: Majolook in BR788 (all four colours), Shadow Customise in GR162, and the Jeweling Pencil in 071 Pearl. You can see little specks of glitter all over my hand!
Now for the matching pens!
The pen bodies are decorated very differently to Style Fits usual silver body. Each pen has colourful stripes in different colours to match the ink with contrasting colour accents. On top of that there are pretty little shiny gold decorations including Uni-ball’s and Majolica Majorca’s branding. They are very very girly and pretty
When I wrote the sample above I hadn’t used the pens at all. They wrote smoothly and clearly as soon as the tip hit the paper.
You know how much I love Style fits, they’re some of my favourite gel pens!
Then there’s the Uni-ball Style Fit Multi Pen bodies in Pink Stripe and Yellow Stripe! I love the rope and tassels design. They come empty so you can choose which five colours to put in them (I love customising). With the Style Fit system, all the ink refills are interchangeable. You can pull out the refills from the single pens or put them in a multi pen, and when they run out you don’t have to buy a whole new pen, just the refill!
I love how very Japanese everything is and how makeup and beauty can cross over into the world of stationery!
