TWSBI VAC 700: Unboxing, First Impressions, and Writing Test! (Video)

TWSBI Vac 700 Capped Body Photo

Hey everyone! I came home to find a box sitting on the bench; it was my new TWSBI VAC 700 fountain pen. What better way to show you my first look at the pen, than to literally show you!

I unbox the pen, ink it, write with it, and smooth out the nib, even showing you how to open the flow. Wait for the end to see a writing test up close!

This pen is a new favourite! Expect a full written and video review very soon.

My Midori Traveller’s Notebook: The Perfect Organised Life

Travellers Notebook Full Photo

I’ve done it. I’ve finally got my Traveller’s Notebook right where I want it.

For those of you that don’t know about the Midori Traveller’s Notebook, think of it as a super DIY Filofax, except cheaper, nicer, and with a better philosophy (at least in my opinion).

I’ll get on to those points later, but first a reason for this post.

My lovely girlfriend, Charlotte, gave it to me a couple of years ago for my Birthday (I don’t remember exactly when). I said I had to have one, and she agreed. I never really loved it, although I always liked it, because it didn’t quite encapsulate my whole life until about two weeks ago. Previous to that I had tried putting all manner of different things inside it without really liking the result, and so it became just another random notebook in my (fairly vast) collection. However, I did nickname it “Travers” (pronounced “Travis”), which created a little bit more of a bond with it.

This post is me convincing you of why it’s very rewarding having something personal and unique to write your thoughts, ideas, and tasks in. If you organise yourself in a more effective, private, and personal way, you feel more connected with your work. Once your notebook is filled with your ideas, you feel like they’re truly “yours”, be it a Filofax, Moleskine, a Midori, or others.

In the Margin: A Few Favourite Photos

In the Margin is a quick new aside feature on Pentorium that takes a break from talking about pens and stationery and lets us post on whatever tickles our fancy! I’ll be posting some of my favourite photos I have taken lately, news on photography, technology, or just a look at some recent purchases, and more!

Since starting my journey as a photographer just over 6 months ago, I’ve taken around 16,000 photos. I’ve had to buy external hard drives just to keep photos on, and I don’t plan on slowing down! After a shoot I spend hours finding those perfect shots from the giant mixing bowl of photos. Here are some of my favourite photos that I’ve taken lately.

I seem to manage to find a whole world of amazing plants every time i go out into my backyard with my camera. Macro photography is my favourite form of photography because a single strip of garden can yield thousands of photos; it’s all about getting up close and seeing what you can find.
